Fitness Tracker

Problem Description:

Many patients who are recovering from medical procedures have a tough time maintaining physical activity levels. This can hinder their recovery speed and prolong their rehabilitation if not properly monitored. To that end we were tasked by Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels to create a medical device that helps patients who are recovering from medical procdures to aid in their recovery process. My team and I decided to make a simple wearable device to assist these patients.

Design Features

This is the overview of what the device looks like

Our Solution:

Whether the patient is at home or undergoing medical treatment at a facility we wanted our device to track the patient's temperature and have an lcd display that could give them a wide range of instructions/ messages. Anything from programmed excercises or messages from their doctors and loved ones to encourage them during their recovery process.

Here are some pictures of our CAD model and general design we went for.

Conclusion:

In the end our design achieved all of our major goals we set to accomplish. We wanted to implement many other functionalities into this device such as a heart rate monitor, gyroscope, better screen, and remote programming features that the doctors could use to send messages or see their patients analytics, but as apart of our college course we were heavily limited on the technology we could use and had to keep it very simple. Despite that we were happy with the final result of this project!
